Sad news

Since I've been getting questions about this, I'm going to post an official update. A while ago I decided to put this project on permanent hold due to the conglomeration of engines that weren't doing so well with each other. People encouraged me and told me they weren't really that noticeable, but I thought they were. So, the demo will serve as a proof-of-concept and a showcase of my goofy idea of creativity until I decide to pick it up again later and restart the project. I've also had second thoughts about making my cartoon character act like he's fat to battle skinny people and their healthy food... Anyway, thanks to all who commented on this project, I'm sure it will turn up again in the future! I started the idea years ago and have already redone it once, so I'm sure it will benefit from another resurrection.

A bug-squashing run

As I said on the goofballity page, I dug the source out again. I was taking a long break because some bugs were stumping me, and as I predicted-- As soon as I came back to it, my fresh mind figured out the bug lickety-split. SO, if I can find an artist, work on BOM should resume.

New platform movement!

Great news! I finally ripped out the old BOM movement and stuck a custom one in! This was I think the biggest job I've ever undertaken.  MANY MANY bugs popped up, and I'm happy to say most of them have been resolved.  Not only will this hopefully make the game more enjoyable, but I also managed to add a few things. BOM now automatically jumps back up after Belly Flopping, and I added dust when he runs. FlipLip has drawn A TON more graphics, and you can see barely a few in the screenshots. (That's bad grammar, but who cares.) I'm very pleased with the progress I made today, it's not everyday almost everything goes off without a hitch.  (I have found that since I got high-speed internet I use more and more emoticons.) An excerpt from the BOM help file: (there were about seven times as many bugs that I fixed. Not joking. I just have bad memory. So I'm extra glad I managed to remember most of the bugs to fix, even though I didn't remember afterwards what I fixed. I cannot stress how many bugs there were and how many I ironed out. If you can't tell, I'm very proud of myself.)

-NEW CUSTOM MOVEMENT CREATED (This was such a huge mess I honestly think it was the biggest job I've ever had. :P)
 Bugs fixed that arose from custom movement:
 -BOM floated
 -Would not be hurt by enemies if moving while hit
 -could not belly pooge while moving without freezing
 -Mushrooms were WAY off
 -BOM will now automatically jump again after Belly Flop!! YAY!

You see I left an extra little dash for when I remember others. There were LOTS. Anyway, a few screenies... I redid the Balding Overweight Man title words, they look more goldy. Fliplip drew some new graphics. Give me your opinions! There are a couple new buildings and the new grass in view... and a screenshot from the ending cutscene. The benches still need redone, but the fire hydrants and car have been redone. I'll put pictures of them as soon as I can! Enjoy!

Remember, some of the graphics are being redone (scroll down) and I already have a better health countdown engine. Next is more redone graphics and a new custom platforming movement for BOM. More updates later!

Balding Overweight Man

My current main project. OldManClayton becomes Middle-aged Balding Overweight Man to save the American populace from healthy food! Balding Overweight Man is a member of the Lardbutt league (Name subject to change), a group of superheroes dedicated to the cause of fast food. So far the members are: BOM, Fattress, Cornelius Daugge, Hamilton Burger, ArcoIrisHombre, Rubicund, Craigles Ferginand, Big McLargeHuge, and Rhinopsychi. (Oh, and Scotty the Peanut Horse. As well as Mr. O'Fungus and Chief Poochypaunch) Join the ranks of the Lardbutt league and protect the people from Skinni Pretzil Stix and his tofu patty kingdom!! I'll put more story later. Some bosses include: The Vegoogie Man, The Tofu Syndicate, and the Helikin. (A helicopter pumpkin. Don't have an official name.) Some Places include: Obecity and Hamburgerburg. Some abilities include: The blazing bald spot laser, the bellybutton abyss, The Lethargic wave of doom, the Belly flop, and the Belly pooge. I'll reveal more as it comes up.
